When you step aboard President Reagan’s Air Force One at the Reagan Library, you are entering more than a historic aircraft.
You are entering what was once known as the “Flying White House”—an aircraft that carried President Reagan across America and around the world as he advanced the cause of freedom.
But none of those missions began at 30,000 feet.
Long before Air Force One left the runway, the aircraft had been prepared. The route had been studied. Communications, security, schedules, and countless other details had been coordinated. Pilots, crew members, advance teams, and advisers understood the mission—and each person understood the role he or she needed to play.
By the time the wheels lifted from the ground, the preparation had already been done.
Homeschool advocacy works the same way.
When a dangerous bill begins moving through the California Legislature, events can unfold quickly. That is not the time to begin learning how the legislative process works, introducing ourselves to lawmakers, organizing homeschool families, or deciding how to explain why private homeschooling matters.
Those preparations must happen before the political turbulence begins.
Homeschool Freedom Day Is Our Preflight Briefing
Homeschool Freedom Day is where we study the route ahead, understand the threats, strengthen relationships, prepare our message, and learn how each of us can help protect homeschool freedom.
We do not prepare because we are afraid.
We prepare because freedom is a sacred trust that must be faithfully carried into the next generation.
This year, the illustration will be right there with us.
HFD 2026 will be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library—home of the actual Air Force One that carried President Reagan on missions across America and around the world. Your HFD ticket includes museum admission, giving you the opportunity to step aboard this historic aircraft yourself.
On September 12, we will gather at the home of President Reagan’s Air Force One to prepare for a mission of our own:
Protecting the freedom of parents to educate their children—and carrying that freedom faithfully into the next generation.
That is what Homeschool Freedom Day 2026 is all about.
