When the phrase low risk, high reward is touted in the business or banking world, it is usually too good to be true. But here at FPM we have a low risk, high reward opportunity for you!

Nathan Pierce and Family Protection Ministries invite you to join our upcoming webinar on December 5, 2024! Please join us for this informative session and learn how your family can make an impact by visiting district offices. We anticipate 20 minutes of instruction and training, followed by a Q&A Session.

Your government representatives in many ways live in a bubble or an ideological vacuum.  Many of them have never met a homeschooling family and only have the worst stereotypes gleaned from Hollywood to base their voting on.

Due to the increased national spotlight on homeschooling, Nathan anticipates more direct legislative attacks against the freedom to homeschool, both in California and nationally. We are not saying that homeschooling is going away this year. But you must be aware that there are politicians playing a long game, and their end goal is to gain control over the lives of your children!

This is why visiting district offices is so urgent. Having families share the positive message of their experiences while privately educating their children at home is critical.  As California continues to embrace policies elevating the government’s authority over children, it is so important that members of the legislature have the opportunity to interact with families who are thriving while privately educating their children at home without any government assistance.

Each year, our Capitol Day attendees deliver homeschool information packets to every legislator’s Capitol office. Homeschool families have the opportunity to introduce their families to staffers and even engage with some legislators–explaining how private home education works. As important as that is, there is always more work to be done. FPM views the delivering of homeschool information packets to every legislator’s district office as vitally important–and that’s where YOU come in.

Every legislator has an office at the Capitol and an office in their district. These district offices have a more relaxed atmosphere, and the staff there are more focused on the issues of their constituents rather than the legislative business of the Capitol. Visiting a district office is an excellent opportunity to share your position about private home education and to begin building a relationship with the staff in that office. A district office is a place where the staff can slow down enough to hear your voice and spend time interacting with you.  We should never undervalue the power of positive, personal relationships with people, especially those in authority over us.

This is your opportunity to step out and make a difference! Our goal is to have all 120 district offices visited in 2024. This is a true low risk, high reward situation! Your family can be part of this important work. Each visit to a legislative district office has the potential to yield high impact results when it comes to legislation regarding private home education.

FPM will be hosting periodic online events to help you get started! These live training events will detail everything you need to know about taking your family on a district office visit. During the event, we will show you the materials we provide for you to take on your visit. You will also hear from Jennifer Avila, who has taken her family on many district office visits. She will share helpful tips with you about these visits and answer any questions you may have.

Question About Calling Your Legislator or the Governor’s Office:

What If I am asked for my name and phone number?

If you call as an individual and are asked for your name and phone number, please consider providing them so that your call for or against the proposal will be tallied. The practice of gathering this kind of information is often used to gain an idea of the extent of support and opposition. This information has never been used by legislators to track down people who oppose or support any legislation.

Did you call your legislator in response to an Action Alert? Please complete the “Action Alert Response Form” below.
