SUMMARY:TeenPact
DESCRIPTION:“The Four Day Class is a dynamic\, hands-on leadership experience where students learn about state government from a Christian worldview. Students gather to run for office\, participate in a mock legislature\, and learn about how they can be effective leaders in their community back home. For students ages 13-19.”  \n“During the Four Day class\, students learn how a bill becomes a law\, hold committee meetings to discuss the bills they wrote\, and participate in a class election where they are able to run campaigns in various capacities. This provides a behind-the-scenes knowledge of the election process\, as well as an opportunity to step up in leadership among their peers. First Time Students gain an in-depth knowledge about the three branches of government\, how they interact with one another\, and the role of lobbyists and citizens in the legislative process. Students who have previously attended the Four Day Class discuss current events and develop their own opinions on how the government should react and how we as Christians should respond.” \nClick Here to Learn More About the Four Day State Class

SUMMARY:Capitol Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join Us in Sacramento for Capitol Day!\nThe goal of Capitol Day is to provide information about private home education to our California state legislators and their staff in a friendly\, professional manner. This also allows legislators and their staff the opportunity to visit with real homeschool families. Capitol Day serves several purposes:\n\n It informs any newly elected legislators and their staff and reminds the veteran legislators of the benefits of private homeschooling.\n It strengthens our working relationship with them on a professional level.\n It leaves them with a way to contact us if they ever have any questions about home education.\n It educates private homeschool families on the inner workings of the legislative process\, trains them in how to advocate for homeschooling freedoms\, and gives them a hands-on learning experience in government as they visit legislators’ offices at the capitol.\n\nOur Capitol Day volunteers will visit each of the 120 legislators’ Capitol offices\, providing each office with an information packet about private homeschooling. These packets help explain private home education as well as provide research showing that privately home-educated children do very well compared with students from the public schools.\nThis event is especially vital for the many new legislators and their new aides who have not yet become familiar with private home education. In fact\, a significant number of the legislators and their aides have no idea how private homeschooling works\, either practically or legally\, or that there are homeschoolers in their districts. These visits go a long way toward helping them see that homeschoolers are good\, law-abiding citizens who are living and working in their districts.

SUMMARY:Become A Homeschool Defender Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Low Risk\, High Reward\nWhen the phrase low risk\, high reward is touted in the business or banking world\, it is usually too good to be true. But here at FPM we have a low risk\, high reward opportunity for you! \nYour government representatives in many ways live in a bubble or an ideological vacuum.  Many of them have never met a homeschooling family and only have the worst stereotypes gleaned from Hollywood to base their voting on. \nDue to the increased national spotlight on homeschooling\, Nathan anticipates more direct legislative attacks against the freedom to homeschool\, both in California and nationally. We are not saying that homeschooling is going away this year. But you must be aware that there are politicians playing a long game\, and their end goal is to gain control over the lives of your children! \nThis is why visiting district offices is so urgent. Having families share the positive message of their experiences while privately educating their children at home is critical.  As California continues to embrace policies elevating the government’s authority over children\, it is so important that members of the legislature have the opportunity to interact with families who are thriving while privately educating their children at home without any government assistance. \nEach year\, our Capitol Day attendees deliver homeschool information packets to every legislator’s Capitol office. Homeschool families have the opportunity to introduce their families to staffers and even engage with some legislators–explaining how private home education works. As important as that is\, there is always more work to be done. FPM views the delivering of homeschool information packets to every legislator’s district office as vitally important–and that’s where YOU come in. \nEvery legislator has an office at the Capitol and an office in their district. These district offices have a more relaxed atmosphere\, and the staff there are more focused on the issues of their constituents rather than the legislative business of the Capitol. Visiting a district office is an excellent opportunity to share your position about private home education and to begin building a relationship with the staff in that office. A district office is a place where the staff can slow down enough to hear your voice and spend time interacting with you.  We should never undervalue the power of positive\, personal relationships with people\, especially those in authority over us. \nThis is your opportunity to step out and make a difference! Our goal is to have all 120 district offices visited in 2024. This is a true low risk\, high reward situation! Your family can be part of this important work. Each visit to a legislative district office has the potential to yield high impact results when it comes to legislation regarding private home education. \nFPM will be hosting periodic online events to help you get started! These live training events will detail everything you need to know about taking your family on a district office visit. During the event\, we will show you the materials we provide for you to take on your visit. You will also hear from Jennifer Avila\, who has taken her family on many district office visits. She will share helpful tips with you about these visits and answer any questions you may have. \nWhat to make a difference? Take the small steps below to make a big impact! \n\nSign-Up for the Upcoming Seminar on Friday\, November 13th at 4:00pm!\nParticipate with your Family\nCheck your Mailbox for Training Materials\nVisit your Representative’s District Office
