SUMMARY:Homeschool Freedom Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring and practical advocacy training designed to empower homeschool families to stand up for parental rights and educational freedom! Hosted at the esteemed Ronald Reagan Presidential Library\, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn effective advocacy strategies while exploring history and foundational freedoms. \nIn 1982\, Ronald Reagan said: \nOur leaders must remember that education doesn’t begin with some isolated bureaucrat in Washington. It doesn’t even begin with state or local officials. Education begins in the home\, where it is a parental right and responsibility. \nThis remains true today! Our mission is to educate and inspire families to actively advocate for homeschooling and parental rights in California. We have chosen to host this special event at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library because it serves as a perfect setting to reinforce the importance of protecting our freedoms. \nCelebrating Freedom – 40 Years of Ministry\nNot only is it the 250th anniversary of the United States of America\, but it is also our ministry’s 40th year! God has been incredibly faithful\, and we are excited to celebrate with you. It is because of you that we have been able to continue defending the right of families to homeschool without governmental interference.\n \n \n \n \n \n Featured Keynote Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Robert Bortins\n Classical Conversations CEO \n Robert Bortins believes that truth\, goodness\, and beauty—pursued through classical education—can transform families and renew culture. As CEO of Classical Conversations\, he has dedicated his life to equipping parents to raise wise and virtuous children who will shape tomorrow’s world.  \nRobert’s passion for education runs deep. Homeschooled through high school\, he went on to earn an Industrial Engineering degree from Clemson University. Now\, as he homeschools his own children and leads his family’s company\, Classical Conversations\, he brings both personal experience and professional expertise to the classical education movement.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zan Tyler\n Speaker | Author | Podcaster \n Zan Tyler speaks to the heart of Christian parents like few others. Zan’s own homeschool journey began in 1984 when she was threatened with jail. She has spent the past three decades advocating for homeschool freedom\, publishing curriculum and resources\, and joyfully equipping parents to thrive in their homeschool journey. She is an uplifting speaker\, author\, and the host of the Zan Tyler Podcast\, an encouraging and practical weekly podcast sponsored by BJU Press Homeschool. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Nathan Pierce\n FPM Executive Director \n Nathan Pierce began working at Family Protection Ministries in 2002 and currently serves as the Executive Director. His role at FPM includes screening the hundreds of bills that pour into the California Legislature each year\, closely watching for any that could harm our freedoms as parents\, and alerting parents to contact their legislators. He works behind the scenes at the State Capitol\, meeting with legislators and staff as well as testifying in committees to advocate on behalf of homeschoolers. Nathan values the importance of evaluating all things from an intentionally biblical worldview and works every day to maintain our freedom to do so. \nNathan was homeschooled through high school and received a B.A. in Political Studies from The Master’s College. Nathan and his wife Betsy were married in 2004 and homeschool their 8 children. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jennifer Avila\n FPM Director of District Outreach \n Bio coming soon.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Coming Soon\n \n More speakers coming soon! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Purchase Your Ticket Today\nLimited tickets available!
