At Family Protection Ministries (FPM), we oppose Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) not just for specific programs, but on principle. While we may remain neutral in cases where we don’t expect a bill or ballot initiative to gain traction, we still oppose the use of government funds for private homeschooling.
One primary concern is that ESAs could immediately, or eventually, restrict the freedoms of the homeschooling community. FPM monitors ESA-related legislation and initiatives closely, as our mission is to โdefend the freedom of parents to train, educate and care for their children privately, without governmental interference.โ
After thorough analysis and consultation with the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), FPM does not support ESA legislation due to concerns that its passage would lead to increased government control over private homeschooling.
