by | Jun 27, 2024 | All Posts, Legislative Updates

Yesterday, AB 1955 was passed from the Assembly Education Committee with a vote of 5-2. The bill is heading to the Assembly Floor where the Assembly members will vote on and concur the Senate amendments into the bill. Many people showed up yesterday for the Assembly Ed Committee hearing to express their opposition. Please continue to take action on this bill by calling your California State Assembly Member. You can find your Assembly Member and their contact information here.

You can visit our detailed page on AB 1955 here to get information about what the issues of the bill are and what the bill specifically does.

Why do we care about AB 1955?

Because the bill undermines the pillars of freedom (Religious Freedom and Parental Rights) upon which the legal right to enroll children in a private school or homeschool has been established.
