Every year, the Private School Affidavit (PSA) must be filed between October 1st and 15th. If you are enrolled in a Private School Satellite Program (PSP), the school’s administrator files one affidavit for the whole group.
The Private School Affidavit (PSA) is now available on the California Department of Education’s website. Private schools, including single-family home-based schools (homeschoolers), can proceed to file their affidavits.
We have reviewed the affidavit in consultation with Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and it appears to be essentially the same as last year.
To get answers to some frequently asked questions concerning filing, please read our article entitled “Filing the Private School Affidavit.”
Anyone who wants step-by-step instructions on how to fill out the PSA form online can visit HSLDA’s website. Any HSLDA members who have related legal questions should contact HSLDA at www.hslda.org or (540) 338-5600. We urge you to join HSLDA or renew your membership today.
